Charles William Castor
Charles William Castor, 86, died Thursday evening, March 11, in Okmulgee. He was born on Thursday, December 27, 1917 to Jobe and Ollie Mae (Ross) Castor in Kellyville, Oklahoma. On August 19, 1939 he married Erple (Weaver) Castor in Chandler, Oklahoma. Former residents of Natoma, Kansas, they resided there for over 26 years.
Mr. Castor was a lifelong member of the Notoma, Kansas Masonic Lodge; he attended the Freewill Baptist Church of Okmulgee, Oklahoma. A pumper in the oil field in Kansas for most of his working years, after retirement he moved to Nuyaka, Oklahoma and once again began pumping. Moving to Okmulgee, Oklahoma in 1997, he finally retired at age 79. He loved spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Emogene Castor and Villma Gaskill; one brother, Walter Castor; one son, Jim Castor; and one daughter, Mrylene Brungardt.
Survivors include his wife, Erple Castor of the home; four daughters, Charlene Rathbun of Ellis, Kansas, Sue Paget of Waldo, Kansas, Judy Snow of Schulter, Oklahoma and Karren Critchfield of Burrton, Kansas; one son, Kevin Castor of Hutchinson, Kansas; twelve grandchildren, Cindy Pottorff, Mandy Oxenford, Jeannie Rathbun, Joel Rathbun, Misty Shirk, Cathy Paget, Bill Paget, Justin Snow, Jamie Snow, Sierra Castor, Sara and Brady Critchfield; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Leota Earnest of Okmulgee, Oklahoma and Geneve Welch of Checotah, Oklahoma; and one step-sister, Christeen Gaskill of Okfuskee, Oklahoma.
Graveside services are Monday, March 15, 2004 at the Natoma Cemetery in Natoma, Kansas under the direction of the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home of Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
