Mrs. Jessie Janie Genchan Greene
was born in
Saratoga, Arkansas to Otto Edward and Frances (Maken) Genchan who were devoted Christians. Jessie and her twin Willie were born September 4,1910. Jessie entered Eternal Life March 5, 1996 in Wichita, Kansas.
Jessie was the seventh child of three sets of twins, one set of triplets and four other children. She was brought up in the United Methodist Church and was a faithful member of the St. Mark United Methodist Church in Wichita, Kansas. She married Rev. William M. Greene, a United Methodist Minister, onMay 20, 1931. He died in 1969.
She received her BS Degree from Langston University; MS
Degree from Oklahoma State University, and did her Post-graduate work at Kansas Teachers College. She was an Elementary School Teacher in Okmulgee, Oklahoma and taught Special Education in several Wichita, Kansas Schools until her retirement.
Jessie is preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, and 9
brothers and sisters. She is survived by 2 brothers; Alvin Genchan, Saratoga, AK; John L. Genchan, Kansas City, KS; four sisters, Lorene Bazart,Okmulgee, OK; Marie Townsend, Lois Green, and Zolene Alexander of Kansas City, KS; two sister-in-laws, Charline Genchan, and Paralee Genchan; nieces, nephews, many relatives and friends.
