Mrs. Hazel Lovie (Genchan) Hicks of
Seattle, Washington, passed Saturday, August 20,1988 in Portland,Oregon. Mrs. Hicks was one of 17 children born to Francis and OttoEdward Genchan in Saratoga, Arkansas. She accepted god's saving Graceat an early age in the United Methodist Church.
She lived in Kansas City, KS and was amember of Mason Memorial United Methodist Church. After becoming aresident of Seattle, she united with the First A.M.E. Church, where heserved as a Trustee and Stewardess. Her favorite witness was, 'I know Iam a Christian.' She owned the Cliff manor Nursing Home in Spokane, WAfor many years, and owned two apartment complexes in Seattle, the HazelPlaza I & II. Mrs. Hicks loved traveling and had visited the Holy Land,London, France, many Islands, Hawaii and many places in the UnitedStates. She loved and enjoyed people.
Her loved ones are: two brothers and fivesisters, Alvin Genchan of Saratoga, AR and John L. Genchan of KansasCity, KS, Jessie Greene of Wichita, KS; six nieces, Maiselle Riley,Jackie Genchan Owens, Cheryl Harvey, Jan M. Townsend and Betty Townsendof Kansas City, KS and Jonetta Carroll of NJ; five nephews, Ellis Greeneand John W. Greene of Kansas City, MO, Charles Greene and Lucious H.Townsend ll of Kansas City, KS and Cordell Jones of Austin, TX; firstcousin Eva Greene of Detroit, MI; 11 great-nephews, 10 great-nieces,other relatives and friends.
