moved to Oklahoma before it became a state, exact year unknown, and are buried here in Okmulgee, OK. Jack owned and operated a store in Okmulgee, Ok. Jack had one son Alonzo Jones and two daughters Freda Jones and Coretha Jones. Alonzo was a decorated police officer in Chicago, IL.
on July 7, 1904, known then as Coretha Barnett, purchased the land at 1109 E.2nd in Okmulgee, OK from Jeddiah H. Durkee for a total of $855. Her husbands name was Joe Barnett. There occupations is unknown. I suspect they farmed and raised animals for sale. They divorced 0n 1/19/1909 and Coretha restored her maiden name Jones. Prior to Joe she was married to ???? Jackson. Sometime after 1922 she married Stewart. Coretha did not have children.
