Beatrice T. Nunn
Beatrice T. Nunn, 94, longtime resident of Okmulgee County, died Wednesday, April 07, 2004 in Okmulgee. Services are 2:00p.m Saturday, April 10, 2004 at the Second Baptist Church in Okmulgee with Reverend George Christy and Reverend Jeff Vernon officiating. Interment will be in the Hanna Cemetery under the direction of the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
She was born on Thursday, August 12, 1909 to William “Dave” Thomas and Elizabeth Belle Kimbro Thomas in McIntosh County. Beatrice spent most of her life in rural Okmulgee County. She retired from O.S.U. Okmulgee in 1978, working as dorm supervisor. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Okmulgee and had enjoyed singing and traveling with the Silver Tones for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard Coffee Nunn in March of 1960; sister, Lillie Mae Thomas Snyder; and brothers, Lee Thomas, Raymond Thomas, Roland Thomas, Cecil Thomas, Leonard Thomas, Julian Thomas and Robert Thomas.
Survivors include three sons, Thomas Calvin Nunn and wife, Agnes of Thibodauix, LA., David Harold Nunn and wife, Sarah of Townsend, MT. and Ernest Ray Nunn and wife, Carolyn of Townsend, MT.; three daughters, Barbara Jean Shinpoch and husband, John of Florida, Ina Bell Anderson and husband, Perry of Eufaula and Sarah Lavada Brooks and husband, Robert of Okmulgee; Seventeen grandchildren, Forty-two great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:30p.m. to 8:00p.m. in the Kelley Chapel of the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
