Curtis ‘Bear’ Ware
Curtis "Bear" Ware, 62, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Okmulgee, died February 21, 2004 in Oklahoma City. He was born May 30, 1941 in Weleetka, the son of Vernon Odell and Rosa Lee (Tamplin) Ware, Sr.
He attended school in Weleetka and Okmulgee. After school, he rendered service in the Army National Guard. He worked as a truck driver and later as a bus driver for Oklahoma City Schools before his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ware of Oklahoma City; his father, Vernon Odell Ware, Okmulgee; his sons, Curtis Cato & Kathy, Derald Ross & Jessica, Leon Ross and Melissa and Jerald Ware, all of Oklahoma City; his daughters, Coletta Ware of Tulsa, Veronica Tekji & James, YaShunda Ware and Felicia Ware, all of Oklahoma City; his brothers, Theodis Ware & Wyntress, Fort Worth, Eddie Ware & Linda, Atlanta, GA, Vernon Ware & Mary E., Rusk Springs, OK, and Phillip Ware & Twana of Hugo; his sisters, Betty Barker, Oklahoma City, Mary Williams & James, Arnetta Penn, Vernett Ware, Carolyn Ware, all of Okmulgee; 22 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, along with a caravan of other relatives and friends.
Service of Memory will be on Saturday, February 28, at 3:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Fifth and Seminole in Okmulgee, Pastor Dennis Taylor, the gracious host pastor and Reverend J. A. Reed, Jr., Pastor of the Fairview Baptist Church, Oklahoma City, the officiant, Burial will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Okmulgee. Funeral services are under the direction of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Okmulgee.
Serving as pallbearers will be Heather Williams, Lonnie Loggins, Benie Cato, Roger Loggins, and Jeff Loggins.
