Karen Ann Westland
Karen Ann Westland, a resident of Stockton, California was born November 19, 1969 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Sharon (Salmon) and R. B. "Bud" Adams. She passed away February 24, 2004 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 34 years 3 months and 5 days. Karen graduated from Henryetta High School, and attended Christian Life College in Stockton, California where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Biblical Studies. She married Rev. Eric Westland in Henryetta, Oklahoma on May 20, 1995.
Karen grew up attending the Gospel Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church in Henryetta, after her marriage she and Eric moved to Santa Rosa, California to work in the ministry with Rev. Nathaniel Haney. Later they began working with a Home Missions work in Stockton, which they are currently pastoring, the Christian Life Center International. Karen‘s life along with her ministry has affected untold numbers of people. Her dedication to God, her talent in song, as well as her kind and happy personality will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Karen was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Buster & Bernice Salmon, and her paternal grandparents Tony & Edna Farnell.
She is survived by her Husband: Rev. Eric Westland, of the home in Stockton, California; 1 Daughter, McKenzie Westland, of the home; 1 Son, Madden Westland, of the home; Her parents, R.B. "Bud" & Sharon Adams, Henryetta; 3 Sisters, Janet Wion, Henryetta; Cathy Prevett & husband Carl, Henryetta; Angie Denny & husband Doyle, Bothell, Washington; her nieces & nephews, Tania Bardin, Henryetta, Cortney Dick & husband Jason, Owasso, Brittany Bardin, Henryetta, Zachary Prevett, Henryetta, Mallory Wion, Henryetta, Bailey & Lincoln Denny, Bothell, Washington as well as a host of church family, friends, and other relatives.
A fund has been established for the children of Karen Westland at the First Family Federal Credit Union P.O. Box 170 Henryetta, Oklahoma, 74437, 918-652-4407.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 27, 2004 at 2:00 pm at the Dewar United Pentecostal Church officiated by Rev. Larry Grissom and assisted by Rev. Matthew Martin, Rev. Jack Voss and Rev. Darrell Rash. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home.
